Study Description:

This research study is being done to assess the safety and effectiveness of an investigational study drug or placebo (when taken alongside an approved antidepressant medication) in possibly treating participants with depression who have been unsuccessful in finding an anti-depressant treatment to sufficiently help. Along with the investigational study drug (or placebo), eligible participants will be asked to take an approved antidepressant treatment. The investigational study drug or placebo and the antidepressant medication will be taken once a day orally. The research study will include up to 14 visits at a study center in your location over the 14-week study treatment period.

You do not need to have health insurance to participate in this research study as all antidepressant medications, study drug, study-related tests and assessments will be provided at no cost.

Participants who qualify may be compensated for time and study-related travel.

Qualifications: – Depressive episode cannot have lasted >2 years – Current medication has not helped OR has only helped <50% – Cannot have other psychiatric conditions (bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, etc) – Cannot have a history of: heart attack, heart failure, or stroke

Study Description: This study is testing the safety and effectiveness of an investigational oral medication in combination with empagliflozin (also known as Jardiance) for people with Heart Failure. Participants will take the investigational medication combination or placebo combination orally, once daily for approximately 2 years and 10 months. Additional procedures include various diagnostic and laboratory tests. Total study duration is up to 3 years, with up to 11 office visits and 6 phone calls. Eligibility for the study will be determined by the study doctor following one in-person screening visit to the clinic. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost.

Qualifications:
– Diagnosed with heart failure 3 months or longer
– Must be currently taking medications to treat your heart failure
– In the past 6 months, must have been hospitalized due to heart failure
– In the past 3 months, cannot have experienced: heart attack, stroke or mini-stroke (TIA), coronary artery bypass graft surgery, heart valve surgery, or acute inflammatory heart disease
– Cannot be diagnosed with Type I Diabetes

– Any Gender
– Diagnosed with Eczema for at least a year
– Eczema affects at least 10% of their body
– Cannot have tried a topical medication to treat their symptoms in past 6 months
